🟩 STEP 1: Complete Pickup Form

βœ… Fill out the Pickup Form to receive the lockbox code

🟩 STEP 2: Access Hitch Locks (Lockbox)

βœ… Use the lockbox on the trailer to access the keys
βœ… Remove the two hitch locks before hooking up
βœ… Keep keys secure during rental

🟩 STEP 3: Confirm Correct Ball Size

βœ… Check the ball size stamped on the trailer coupler
βœ… Make sure your hitch ball matches exactly (2", 2‑5/16", etc.)
βœ… Ball must be tight and securely mounted

⚠ Wrong ball size can cause the trailer to disconnect.

🟩 STEP 4: Verify Hitch Weight Rating

βœ… Confirm your hitch is rated for this trailer’s GVWR
βœ… Hitch rating must meet or exceed trailer weight rating
βœ… Check both receiver and ball mount ratings

⚠ Underrated hitches are unsafe and illegal.

🟩 STEP 5: Properly Latch & Lock the Coupler

βœ… Unplug charging power cord from trailer (if equipped)

βœ… Lower coupler fully onto ball
βœ… Close latch completely
βœ… Insert safety pin or lock through latch

βœ… Pin/lock installed

🟩 STEP 6: Attach Safety Chains (CROSS THEM)

βœ… Cross chains under the trailer tongue
βœ… Hook securely to vehicle frame or hitch loops
βœ… Leave enough slack for turning (but not dragging)

βœ… Chains crossed
βœ… Hooks secure

🟩 STEP 7: Attach Breakaway Brake Cable (If Equipped)

βœ… DO NOT attach to safety chains

βœ… Breakaway cable attached

🟩 STEP 8: Connect Electrical Plug

βœ… Plug fully inserted
βœ… Test: brake lights, turn signals, running lights
βœ… Confirm trailer brakes activate (if equipped)

βœ… Electrical connected
βœ… Lights working

🟩 STEP 9: Secure the Tongue Jack

βœ… Crank jack to FULL up position
βœ… If equipped with a drop foot, fully retract the drop leg before driving
βœ… Some jacks rotate — ensure jack is locked in the horizontal travel position
βœ… Confirm jack will not contact the ground when towing
